In the beginning...

Welcome. For the first time in roughly two years, I have Internet access at home, representing my best opportunity to keep up with one of these. The decision involved careful consideration: I'm way too opinionated and too much of a conformist to pass up the fad of publishing random thoughts for anyone to see. On the other hand, I feared seeing my own blog suffer the same fate as so many others: updated maybe twice or thrice, and then forgotten forever.

To avoid that possibility, I'll only normally update this blog once a week. That'll ensure I don't run out of ideas for posts. Of course, certain weeks will merit more than post - take, for instance, the week of midterm elections in November. I'll likely have several posts at that time.

So, please - bookmark this site and check it out frequently. Post comments. I'll gauge the success or failure of this blog by the feedback it receives. I don't care what that feedback is, either. If you say that Coors Light is a great beer, I may disagree, but I'll entertain your position nonetheless. Any and all viewpoints are welcome. Isn't that the point of living in America?
